For the past three weeks, the front office has been greeted by a pretty, multi-color cat wearing a sunflower collar around her neck. While the collar is more than just a fashion statement, it has made Snickers’ company all the brighter.

Snickers was brought to ACSKC after a Good Samaritan saw she had been injured. One of her back legs was in bad shape, and our Animal Control Officer immediately brought her to the vet. After careful assessment, it was determined her leg should be amputated. Eastern Shore Animal Hospital performed the surgery, and Snickers has been recovering at ACSKC since. Her collar has kept her from licking at the stitches, but the loss of limb itself hasn’t held her back.

Much sooner than expected, Snickers began exploring her new environment. In seemingly no time at all, she has adjusted to her new standard of mobility, and has claimed her spot on an office desk near the window. Just as sweet as the candy she’s named for, this 4-year-old loves a good scratch behind the ears and sleeping by your side. We believe she would do well in any home that’s looking to add a spot of sunshine to their life!
