Echo

Ringing in the New Year should feel like opening the door to countless possibilities. But for some, it can feel like more of the same, or—in Echo’s case—returning right back to where he started.

Seven years ago, Echo came to ACSKC as a tiny kitten. His stay with us was brief; as is sometimes the case when the Shelter has more animals than they can care for, Echo and his siblings were transferred to one of our shelter partners. Records show he was adopted, and that’s when Echo should have had his Happily Ever After.

Then, last week, we received a call from animal services from a different Maryland county. They told us Echo had been picked up as a stray, and asked if we would take him in. Echo is now back in our care, and as our efforts to contact his previous owner have hit a dead end, Echo is now in need of a second chance.

Save for a few thin scars that run across the bridge of his nose, Echo is no worse for wear from his time on his own. This orange tabby has a neat pair of white socks, eyes the color of unpolished peridot, and a pale pink nose; features that, paired with the scars, create a very distinguished looking feline.

And to top it off, Echo is a very sweet boy that will take pets from anyone. He will meow when he wants attention, and is A+ Lap Cat material. He is currently getting used to his new surroundings in the front lobby, and has made a place for himself in one of the offices.
