On an unusually warm day in March, our Animal Control Officer picked up a stray black kitten in Worton. The kitten’s black fur was only coming up in patches throughout her body, one hind leg was injured, and she tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
We discovered an extreme reaction to fleas was the cause of the infection, and we immediately began treatment. With consistent application of some good ole flea and tick preventative, and a bandage for the leg, Ash was well on her way to a full recovery.
Now, Ash’s fur has grown back in completely, and this beautiful black cat is ready for adoption!
Despite the state she was in when she arrived at the shelter, Ash has always been extremely friendly. This one-year-old loves to cuddle, play with wand toys, and is a huge fan of treats. She has maintained her delightful personality throughout her treatment, and is always happy to receive attention. She doesn’t seem to care for feline companionship, though, so it looks like her ideal home is the sort where she can be the one and only kitty.
