It is not always an easy task, matching up the exact right dog for the exact right family… The staff of The Humane Society of Kent County work tirelessly to accomplish success when it comes to adoptions. More often than not, a dog enters the shelter with little to no background info. The time the staff spends with each dog/cat helps to begin piecing together the puzzle. An assessment is also performed on each dog, which also helps provide some answers.
Little Zoey is a 1 and ½ years old and has recently been returned to the shelter after a failed adoption. It turns out that Zoey can’t live with cats and likes to jump fences. So, back to the drawing board, so to speak! Zoey will now be looking for a home that is feline-free.
Most behaviors, such as jumping, can usually be trained out of a dog. And this brave little midget will always make you smile! Zoey is super smart and seems to love the companionship of other dogs. She lived with a younger child and had a great connection with her. She knows ‘sit’ and ‘give paw’ and is always full of kisses! Zoey would be a great addition to an active family. Please come and see her today. Life is full of second chances….doesn’t Zoey deserve one too?
The HSKC Shelter is open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays through Saturdays 11am to 4pm, and adoption applications can be filled out online ahead of time to speed the process. Please come visit Zoey today!
