2 year old Tilly is approaching her 7 month mark at the shelter. This is way too long for any animal to have to deal with the constant stress of kennel life! Who knows why some animals get adopted and others overlooked? This cute-as-a-button, dilute calico had a hard time at first.
She had shown up as a stray that a family had tried hard to incorporate into their home, but their other cats just weren’t having it. They had Tilly spayed, and loved her very much, but she just wasn’t going to be able to stay. Her first few weeks at the shelter were traumatic. Although she is ultra-sweet and friendly, she just was too scared to come out of her cage.
Fast forward 6 months and, with the help of and encouragement from staff and volunteers, Tilly has come out of her cage and out of her shell! She has a great personality, with a side of spunk! She spends most of her days hanging out with the other cats in the cat adoption room. On special days, she has the privilege of joining the office staff in the lobby. (Most recently, she was caught sitting in a box of receipts on the counter!) Tilly always makes the staff laugh with her colorful antics! She would love to come add a smile to your day and happiness to your home. Please come meet Tilly today at The Humane Society of Kent County!
