Sullivan is a 2 yr. old brown tabby who has come a long way since entering The Humane Society of Kent County in August. She was one of many cats roaming the streets in downtown Chestertown. A good citizen found her hanging out by the Sultana Shipyard and brought her to the shelter. She feared that this kitty was in need of medical attention due to the appearance of her eye.
Sullivan’s eye was not the main problem. The discoloration of her eye was due to an old injury. The eye could be removed for cosmetic reasons, but was not necessary. The real emergency was that Sullivan was going through a miscarriage.
The staff at the shelter tended to Sullivan medically and saw her through her dilemma. A couple of weeks later, Sullivan went to the vet to be spayed. The next step is usually adoption, but Sullivan was extremely shy. She was skittish around people and extremely flighty. She buddied up with another female cat and spent most of her time hanging with her bestie, out of sight of visitors.
A couple of weeks ago, Sullivan’s bestie got adopted. The staff wasn’t sure how Sullivan would react. Amazingly enough, Sullivan has recently become more and more outgoing. She loves one on one cuddle time and will literally follow you around for a treat. Sullivan has decided it is time to find her forever home! She would do well in a home with other feline companions. Please come visit HSKC today and give this little girl a chance to win your heart.
