Nicole Mancino

Nicole Mancino,
Director of Animal Control

My name is Nicole Mancino and my journey in animal welfare began in April of 2008 at the age of 20.  I started working for the Delaware SPCA in Stanton, DE as a kennel technician for dogs and cats.  Eventually, I ended up working the front desk, handling adoptions, relinquishes, and dispatch.  I even began helping out in our high-flow spay/neuter clinic as relief.

In 2012, I left to obtain my Emergency Medical Technician certification, and drove an ambulance for a transport company.  But I quickly discovered that my passion for animals was still strong, and I rejoined the animal welfare field as an Animal Control Officer.  I worked in this capacity for about 2 years until our contracted ended with the State.  I then rejoined the Delaware SPCA at their Georgetown location.

I’ve held jobs ranging from kennel technician to volunteer coordinator.  I am currently pursuing my Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology online.  I own 5 dogs, 10 cats, a goat, a rabbit, and several chickens – all rescues!  I enjoy taking on special needs cases and senior animals, since they are often the most overlooked for adoption.
