A Cat’s Private Diary

It’s March already and I can hear the wind howling outside. Thank goodness someone had the common sense to recognize that I was NOT an outdoor cat and that I needed saving! I can’t say that often enough.

Barn Cats

The wild-child of the cat set. They have been helping to protect our grain and feed stores since around 7,500 BC. And they’re not just limited to barns, here in Kent County we even have a few in airplane hangars, chicken coops (she likes to sleep with them), and a friend-of-the-Alpacas cat.

The Midwife

Upon making the decision to retire this past summer, I completed the paperwork to become a “foster parent” for the Humane Society of Kent County. Shortly after I received a call asking if I would foster an expectant mother.

What does it mean to adopt

It takes a special person to adopt a pet who has issues. You notice the staff doesn’t always gush over all of them, calling them perfect.
